The Gap Band was an American funk band primarily consisting of brothers Ronnie (b. 1948, d. 2021), Charlie (b. 1953) and Robert Wilson (b. 1956, d. 2010).The group first formed as the Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band in 1967 in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They collaborated with Lonnie Simmons extensively. Their best known hits were “I Don't Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance (Oops!)”, “Burn Rubber On Me”, “Outstanding”, “Early In The Morning”, “You Dropped A Bomb On Me” and “I Found My Baby”. The group remained active until the death of Robert Wilson on August 15, 2010.
