Swedish composer and music critics, born on October 13 1890 in Silvberg, Dalarna, and died at Särö, August 9, 1966.

His education was first at the Music Conservatory in Stockholm 1913–1914, then with Professor Liebermann in Copenhagen, where he also lived 1916–1920. In Paris, where he lived from 1920–1932, he first studied composition with Vincent d'Indy and conducting with Camille Chevillard and, during his last Paris years, composition with Leonid Sabaneev.
