British novelist and poet (born 17 January 1820, Thornton, West Riding of Yorkshire, England - died 28 May 1849, Scarborough, North Riding of Yorkshire, England). She was the youngest of the surviving Brontë siblings: Charlotte, Branwell and Emily.
