Classical double bassist who was born in Kiev, Ukraine. Played in the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra for 15 years and the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra for 13 years. Played as Principal Bass in the Minnesota Orchestra after moving to the United States in 1977 and later joined the New York Philharmonic in 1985.
