American banjo player, guitarist, and singer. A Raleigh, North Carolina native. 5-time International Bluegrass Music Association's Banjo Player of The Year. Won IBMA's album of the year for his instrumental project "Bound To Ride". He is a six time Grammy award winner. Jim Mills (born December 18, 1966 - died May 3, 2024)) was an American musician known primarily as a bluegrass banjo player who played in the 3-finger style popularized by Earl Scruggs. Jim is also well known as an expert on pre-war Gibson banjos.
