50s vocal group from Bridgeport, CT well known for their 1961 recording "Long Tall Girl".
Originally named the Startones formed in 1954: Carl Hatton, Arthur Blackwell, Matthew Morales, Alan Mason, Harvey Arrington.
Later known as the Teardrops: Matthew Morales, Carl Hatton, Harvey Arrington, Tommy Blackwell, Edward Kennedy. This version of the group claimed to be the backing group on the Bo Diddley's recordings "I'm Sorry"/"Crackin' Up"/"Don't Let It Go".
