Roger Troutman had formed various different bands with his four brothers, including "Lil" Roger And His Fabulous Vels. The Human Body was initially the first group of the Troutman Brothers (and family) before the formation of Zapp in 1980. The Human Body released work in the 1970s under the name of "Roger & The Human Body". Around 1984 and 1985, another Troutman-produced group with different front men released work as Human Body (2).
