Ian Rush

The band were formed in 1991 coming out of the ashes of several local Flintshire bands The Happyheads, Melancholy Shopping Trolley and Madfall Rheibus.
They began gigging at the Mold Eisteddfod in 1992 and then played all over Wales eventually being signed by Recordiau Ankst in 1993 contributing a track on the compilation album ‘Ap Elvis’ (Ankst 38) and an EP ‘Cwcwy’ (Ankst 51.)
A session was recorded for the John Peel show on October 23 1993 and the band played a celebratory football club tour taking in Aberystwyth Town, Mold Alexandra and Witton Albion amongst others.
The original line up went into stasis after this with the pressure of recording their first album too great despite fantastic support from Ankst records.
Ian Rush reformed in 2007 for the Mold Eisteddfod and have gigged sporadically since then before adding Aaron Jones to the line up in 2011 and finally getting to grips with that difficult first album released after 2 singles Catrin Nadolig December 2016 and Trip Traeth June 2017. The album 10 Trac o’r Ffin was released in August 2017 and has currently sold out its first pressing.
