American R&B and blues band formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1967. After high school graduation, the band moved to Tacoma in 1970 and then to Seattle in 1971. In March, 1978 they backed Bo Diddley for two nights at the Rainbow Tavern in the University Disctrict of Seattle. Kidd Afrika remained based out of Seattle until their breakup in 1982.
