Elias Badeaux

Real name: Elias Shute Badeaux

Effective period / Period of releases: 1963

Cajun accordionist, bandleader and founder of Badeaux & Louisiana Aces, born February 25, 1910 in Bayou Petite Anse, Iberia Parish, Louisiana, USA, and died May 5, 1978 in USA.

Badeaux led "Badeaux & Louisiana Aces" from 1950 to 1969, after which he took a full-time job as a school custodian. In 1973 the band performed at the National Folk Festival in Vienna, Virginia, without Badeaux. The performance revived the band, and in 1974 Rounder Records gathered all the members - including Badeaux - and recorded an album. Badeaux was a resident of New Iberia, Louisiana, at the time of his death in 1978.
