Effective period / Period of releases: 1969

Rudy started singing, like so many of his peers, in gospel groups at an early age and then moved on to secular music. After a short stint as a member of The Drifters, Mockabee had his first solo record, released in 1969. One more 45 followed the year after, also on Atco records called "Piece Of My Heart" / "Think About It". After that it seems like Mockabee´s recording days were over but he continued performing, especially in and around his native Huntsville, Alabama.
