Belarusian folk chorus formed in 1952 by Геннадий Цитович, who was the Artistic Director until 1974.
Name of the choir was adjusted several times. It was reorganized in 1959 into the Belarusian State Song and Dance Ensemble, and in 1964 into the State Folk Choir of the Belarusian SSR.
Current name: Национальный академический народный хор Республики Беларусь имени Г. И. Цитовича.
