Biography

Ted McNabb
Effective period / Period of releases: 1960
American financial backer of one Jazz musical release in 1960.Ted McNabb funded the album release of Ted McNabb & Co. Big Band Swing--an album he hoped his girlfriend would sing on but ended up as just instrumental songs--though with heavy hitter musicians. McNabb paid for the charts by arranger Marion Evans, the musicians and the studio time--all the upfront costs that enabled Columbia to agree to release it on their Epic label.
Billboard magazine March 14, 1960 in a review said "McNabb has assembled a hard driving, swinging big band crew of ace jazz men on this package."
McNabb was the son of J. H. McNabb, president of Bell & Howell Company in the 1940's.
McNabb hoped to do an additional album but died before it was begun.
