Walter Vinson

Country blues singer and guitarist.
Born: February 2, 1901 near Bolton, Mississippi
Died: April 22, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois

Walter Vinson, the Chatmon's (Bo Chatman, Lonnie Chatman and Sam Chatmon) neighbor, erroneously known as "Walter Vincson" and "Walter Vincent", sometimes recorded as "Walter Jacobs (2)" (using his mother's maiden name).
Vinson recorded extensively 1929-1941, often with Mississippi Sheiks or with musicians from that circle. He recorded again for Riverside in 1961, and as a member of The New Mississippi Sheiks in 1972. Mostly inactive due to illness in his last years.
