Roxane Benassaya, Christophe Méoni and Gregory Ettori started off as "Neptüne" in 2007. In order to convey their new musical approach, they decided to change the name into Contre Jour in 2009. Emmanuel d'Auzon joined the band as full member in May 2010. The band is currently in an intense rehearsal phase.

Christophe Méoni and Emmanuel d'Auzon are also active in the band Garçons Coiffeurs.
