Sigrún Eðvaldsdóttir

Violinist, born 13 January 1967 in Reykjavik, Iceland. Concertmaster of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra since 1998, with which she regularly performs as a soloist.
She studied at the Curtis Institute Of Music. After Curtis she became the founding member of The Miami String Quartet. Sigrún enjoys performing new music and many composers have composed music specially for her. In 1988, she was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Icelandic Order of the Falcon for her contribution to music.
