Zigmat is a Brooklyn-based electro-rock band that was formed in 2006 by vocalist Monica Rodriguez and bassist Stephen Yonkin, who met at a bar after attending the same music school. The band released their first EP Sounds of Machines in 2008 and their debut full-length album with the same name in 2009, which showcases their eclectic mix of world, punk, trip-hop and rock influences and Rodriguez’s vocal versatility. The band has been signed by two labels in Brazil and Spain and has toured in the US, Brazil, Mexico and Europe. Their music has been featured in films, TV shows and radio stations and has received positive reviews from critics and fans.
