John Whitby
Vocalist in heavy metal / alternative rock bands The Beyond and Gorilla. Studied Politics after Gorilla finished and also became a foster parent. In 2010, was elected as a Labour Party councillor for the Mackworth area of Derby. In May 2017, councillor John Whitby was elected as Mayor of the city of Derby and in July 2024 he won election as MP for Derbyshire Dales.
