Has played and or toured with Willie Nelson and Family, High Noon, Ronnie Dawson, The Derailers, Asleep At The Wheel, Dwight Yoakam, the Brian Setzer Orchestra, the Asylum Street Spankers, 8 1/2 Souvenirs, the Stone River Boys, Jesse Dayton and many Others. Smith received Grammy nominations for 2009's "Willie And The Wheel" by Willie Nelson and Asleep At The Wheel, 2016's "The Cedar Creek Sessions" by Kris Kristofferson" and received a Grammy certificate for 2016's 'Summertime: Willie Sings Gershwin" by Willie Nelson. and has recorded with High Noon, Ronnie Dawson, The Derailers, Asylum Street Spankers, Pam Tillis, Dan Hicks, Dale Watson, Heybale!, Flat Top Jones, Willie Nelson,Dwight Yoakam, James Mcmurtry, Kris Kristofferson and many other Americana, Rockabilly and Country acts.
