Anofela
Born and raised in Ivory Coast, he was immersed in the sounds of African and Afro-American music, French song, hip-hop with the greats of funk and soul like Sugar Hill Gang, Grand Master Flash, Run DMC…
At the start of the 1990s, French rap was booming. In parallel with his studies, he began working with Teeyah and signed with Sony Music in publishing.
He participated in several album and compilation projects and then won a Kora Award in 2004 (victory for African music), then the title “Coupé décalé” which revealed Teeyah. A number of projects followed with artists such as Kaysha (2), Top-One Frisson, Kamnouze, Alibi Montana and DJ Arafat.
He wrote and produced, in 2007, in collaboration with Kaysha and Kamnouze, the album by the young female trio, Les Déesses, entitled “Exotic Flavors” (gold record). He will also actively participate in the development of the album “With or without you” by Lylah, the leader of the group, released in 2009 by Nouvelle Donne.
Before his solo album, ANOFELA arrived on the record market with his blackmixtape “The Jaypre’z”, at the end of 2010. His first single “Empire State of Blackprez” featuring Alicia Keyz placed him at number 1 in Ivory Coast.
