Leon Lumpkins, (Born 26 Apr 1934 Died 14 Oct 2007), son of William and Leah Lumpkins was born in Newark, New Jersey. Leon attended the New York University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the Juilliard School of Performing Arts in New York City. Leon was the founder of The Gospel Clefs. Leon played and taught at many venues throughout the New Jersey, New York metropolitan area.
