The Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quartet was an American experimental/psychedelic rock/fusion electronica group established by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez in 2006 as one of his solo projects outside The Mars Volta, alongside the associated Quintet and Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group/"New" Group. The band featured TMV's bassist Juan Alderete de la Peña, Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez on drums and keyboards, and RHCP guitarist and Omar's frequent collaborator, John Frusciante. Their sole studio release, Sepulcros De Miel Maxi-EP ("Tombs of Honey" in English), initially came out on 30 May 2010 as a free download at Omar's official Bandcamp alongside Omar Rodriguez Lopez & John Frusciante duo collaboration with the option to donate any amount to "Keep Music In Schools" charity. (Subsequently, it became a regular digital album at a minimum price of $4.99.) The LP edition on Rodriguez Lopez Productions followed on 15 July 2010, limited to 2000 copies pressed on purple and orange colored vinyl.
