Mark Taimanov

Mark Evgenievich Taimanov (Russian: Марк Евгеньевич Тайманов; born 7 February 1926, Kharkov, died 28 November 2016) was a leading Soviet and Russian chess player and concert pianist. He formed a renowned duo with his first wife Lyubov Bruk. After his world championship chess tournament loss against Bobby Fischer in 1971, and the following hardships in the Soviet Union, they separated.
