Satan's Satyrs are the brainchild of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Clayton "Claythanas" Burgess, formed in 2009 in Herndon, Virginia, USA while Clayton was still in high school.
Burgess was influenced by both punk rock and doom metal (he has cited Black Flag and Electric Wizard (2) as favorites) as well as drawing inspiration from 1960s & 1970s horror and exploitation movies.

The band announced their break-up through social media on July 24, 2019. They reunited in late 2023.
