Axis is a hard rock band from Shreveport, Louisiana, USA, that was formed around 1972 after Jay and Danny's band Salvation folded. The band originally consisted of Jay, Danny and drummer David McCeller. Not to be confused with Axis (49) from Eau Claire, Axis (82) from Boston and Axis from Frankfort.

The band featured guitarist and vocalist Danny Johnson, bassist Jay Davis and drummer Vinny Appice.
