Biography

Second Skin
Second Skin was formed in 1981 in Groningen, Holland by drummer Luuk Visscher, guitarist Marinus Elzinga, vocalist Harry Kwant and bassist Freddie Espeldoorn. Soon Freddie left the band and was replaced by Hans Steneker. The band recorded its only release, a 6 track mini album titled “First Life”. Two tracks from the mini album also appear on the legendary Holland Heavy Metal pt. 2 compilation album. In 1983, Marinus Elzinga was replaced by Erwin Jawa, who came from Herman Brood’s Wild Romance. Second Skin played some concerts, mainly in Holland and Germany and opened up a lot of times for Vandenberg. Their last show was at the Sodom Rock Festival in Winschoten on the 29th of December 1984 and they decided to quit soon after. Elzinga reunited the band for some shows in Holland in 1994.
