Ernst Landl

Austrian jazz and pop pianist, bassist, vibraphone player, drummer and band leader.
He was born February 12, 1914 in Vienna and died December 4, 1983 in Stockholm. He started playing in the early 1930s in Bobby Sax's orchestra, and accompanied Adelaide Hall in Vienna in 1935. During WW II Landl gave clandestine concerts and recorded with his own quintet in 1943. After the war he worked with Horst Winter and made many records with his own group, the Hot-Club Vienna. He stopped playing jazz in the mid-1950s and moved to Sweden.
