The Große Chor des Berliner Rundfunks was founded 1948 by Helmut Koch. It was kind of successor of the former existing choir related to the national broadcasting service but of course completely new established.In 1973 this choir and Solistenvereinigung des Berliner Rundfunks (Solistenvereinigung des Deutschlandsenders) were incorporated to Rundfunkchor Berlin.
