Effective period / Period of releases: 1993 - 1995

Members: Kristian Bush, Andrew Hyra

Billy Pilgrim (often stylized billy pilgrim) is an American folk rock duo based in Atlanta, Georgia, comprising Andrew Hyra and Kristian Bush. The band's name was taken from the time-traveling anti-hero of Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse-Five. The name was adopted in 1994; prior to that the duo simply billed itself as Andrew Hyra and Kristian Bush. The band has released two albums on a major record label "(Billy Pilgrim", "Bloom") and several independently. The songs "No More For You" and "Sweet Louisiana" were released as singles. Billy Pilgrim went into hibernation around 2002. At that time Bush started country pop act Sugarland (2) as well worked on a solo carreer. Hyra released solo albums and later started folk rock act Smokin' Novas.
It took 15 years for te duo to reunite on stage, during the annual Thanksgiving concerts of Bush.

Their album "In The Time Machine" was digitally rereleased in 2020. The duo did some media performances in celebration of that. Later that year, they did a live stream from the studio. Those recordings have been made available via digital streaming media.
