American classical pianist, composer and conductor (Yonkers, New York, 28 May 1949 – Brussels, Belgium, 2 February 2015). Considered a child prodigy, Alfidi (then known as Joey) started conducting at the age of six. He studied at the Brussels Conservatory at the invitation of Queen Elisabeth of Belgium and joined the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in 1965. He lived in Belgium for the later part of his life.
