Gemini London

Members: Sophie Harris, Adrian Levine, Ian Mitchell, Caroline Balding, Ileana Ruhemann, Catriona Scott, Elsa Bradley

Classical chamber ensemble, also referred to as Gemini Ensemble, or just Gemini, based in London, and founded in 1973 by Ian Mitchell, under the musical direction of Peter Wiegold. The group was named after the first piece ("Gemini") composed for them by Wiegold. In 1985, Ian Mitchell took over as director after Wiegold left.

Gemini has no defined line-up or instrumentation. They did all sorts of things and were very involved with education work, going to the schools and getting the class of students to work with them on composing music which they would then put into their concert, usually with them playing as well.
They have commissioned a lot of works and have played on around 20 CD and LP releases between 1980 and 2016, and did masses of BBC recordings.
