American vocalist active in 1940s Ray Dorey was born March 26, 1918 in Burlington Vermont. Died on March 19, 1971 and interred at Mount Auburn Cemetery Cambridge, Massachusett next to his wife Lorraine died 4 Dec 1992 He was a Singer Piano player Disc Jockey staff announcer Sang with Benny Goodman 1943 he performed at the Astor Roof and Paramount Theater with Bob Hope,voted best baritone of the day. He toured many army camps. during the war. His biggest recorded hit was Mam'selle, recorded later in 1947.. He was voted the Best disc Jockey in Massachusetts by a national poll. He joined WBZ radio in 1946 and again stayed for about three years as a "singing emcee. In 1949 In the early 1950's, he taught voice and dramatics at the New England Conservatory of Music Later he had a major library of children songs
