a.k.a. Μπαξεβάνης Ι Μπαξές Ι Το αηδόνι της Κρήτης [To aidoni tis Kritis] Cretan artist [Singer, Mandolin, Bulgari, Lute] born in Rethymnos, Crete. Brother of Λαυρεντία Μπερνιδάκη. His artistic name Μπαξές means "Garden" they called his as such because of his sweet voice.
He started playing Mandolin and Bulgari at the age of 12 but the Lute "earned" him. His first recordings was in 1928 with Cretan Lyre player Αλέκος Καραβίτης collaborations followed with: Στέλιος Φουσταλιέρης, Μανώλης Λαγός, Ανδρέας Ροδινός, Αντώνης Παπαδάκης [Καρεκλάς] and Αθανάσιος Σκορδαλός
