Prolific playwright, he wrote 124 plays, many of which were great hits. He has also made 36 films (including 17 adaptations of his plays), playing in almost all of them. All this from 1902 to 1957.
He was married to Charlotte Lysès, Yvonne Printemps, Jacqueline Delubac, Geneviève de Séréville and Lana Marconi.
