Croatian conductor and composer of Czech origin.Born November 28, 1884 in Lišov near České Budějovice, died August 4, 1958 in Zagreb.
Finished violin studies in Prague. Then a member of The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, concertmaster at the Belgrade Theatre Orchestra (Opera Narodnog Pozorišta U Beogradu), and music teacher at the Novi Sad Music School. From 1911 he was a concertmaster and conductor of Zagreb Opera (Orkestar Opere Hrvatskog Narodnog Kazališta), also some time a director of the Croatian National Theatre (Hrvatsko Narodno Kazalište, Zagreb). From 1932 to 1938 he was a director of Brno Opera House (Janáček Opera House Brno).
