Austin, Texas indie musician who died in 2017 at the age of 42. The self proclaimed Voodoobilly Queen left Montreal, Canada in her early teens to escape an abusive father. After a period in Hollywood she found her home with the Austin music scene. Cox struggled with mental illness, PTSD and addiction. In 2016 she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the disease that eventually took her life in 2017. In 2022, filmmaker Omar Mousa released a documentary on the life of Izzy Cox titled, "Fighting the Devil."
