Johnny Jones

Also known as Little Johnny Jones. From Augusta Georgia, a member of The Swanee Quintet in the mid-50s. In 1957 he was chosen to replace Sam Cooke in The Soul Stirrers, a position he soon relinquished to Johnnie Taylor. He cut two 45s for Bobby Robinson later in the 60s which were his only secular outings & he went on to record gospel as a solo artist for Creed in the 70s.
