Ralph Carter was born May 30, 1961, in New York City.Ralph is best known for his work as a child star. Initially starring in both of the Broadway musical "Raisin," based on the Lorraine Hansberry drama "A Raisin in the Sun". And starring as a child to teenager actor as the beloved character Michael Evans; who was the youngest member of the Evans family on the popular 1970s T.V. sitcom "Good Times." (1974-1979)
For his endearing work in the Broadway musical, "Raisin", Ralph Carter was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical). He also has the distinction of having appeared in two Galt MacDermot musicals in the same season, "Dude", for which he won the Drama Desk Award for Most Promising Performer, and in "Via Galactica."
In 1975, Ralph recorded an album titled, "When You're Young and in Love." The title song, along with the tune "Extra, Extra" charted to No. 10 and No. 12. Ralph returned to his roots in the theater; as Vice President of the Audience Development Committee (AUDELCO), an organization dedicated to celebrating the contributions of African-Americans in theater.
