The Spinners

Members: John McCormick (4), Hughie Jones, Tony Davis (12), Mike Groves, Jacqueline McDonald, Cliff Hall (8)

A Liverpool-based folk quartet, formed in 1958: The original line up of Tony Davis, Mick Groves, Cliff Hall and Hugh Jones was augmented by other short lived members including Jacqueline MacDonald who went on to form Jacqui And Bridie

Their first TV appearance was in 1960 and they also had their own BBC1 show in the 1960s that ran for many years. They have guested with Nana Mouskouri, Morecambe & Wise and Harry Secombe among others.

Not to be confused with the legendary Motown soul group Spinners (aka The Detroit Spinners).
