Biography
Betty Norton
Real name: née Betty Lane
American vocalist from Connecticut who started her career in the vocal group The Norton Sisters (originally the Lane Sisters) in the late 1930s. The group became very popular while performing with Vaughn Monroe but the success only lasted for a couple of years; due to two of the sisters getting married the group broke up in the mid-1940s. Betty continued her career as a solo vocalist, and stayed with Monroe before leaving in May 1947. She then sang briefly with Skitch Henderson and two years with Hal McIntyre before marrying one of the McIntyre's musicians and retiring from the show business.
