Late 1960s Protestant Christian folk band from the United States.The band developed from the Campus Life Clubs and Campus Crusade for Christ Clubs, organised on university campuses by the Youth for Christ, International.
Original songs with words were written as contemporary Christian ballads and covers were of songs which could be interpreted as spiritual or religious. Instrumentation was acoustic.
The group toured the US and the world playing events, festivals, campuses.
The original lineup included Gilbert J. Moegerle, Bob Henley, Jane Ternigan, Jean Falls and Alan Previto.
The lineup on the the first album was Gil Moegerle, Bob Henley, Jodi Page, Ruth Moegerle, and Bill Moore
They are not to be confused with the American folk band from the early 1960s with the same name, New World Singers or the later Christian group of the same name, New World Singers.
