Canadian singer who made her debut in 1964 under her real name: Manon Kirouac. She had some success on records until 1968, then she decided to finish her studies. Subsequently she returned to popular song under the name "Anne Renée". It was her friend, the singer Johnny Farago, who introduced her to producer Guy Cloutier who decided to take her under his wing. She then became one of the most popular singers on the Quebec scene. It was also at this time that she fell in love with Cloutier's associate, René Angélil, whom she married in 1973 and with whom she had two children, Jean-Pierre Angélil and Anne-Marie Angélil. Her musical career ended in 1979. She then hosted the show "Les Tannants" with Pierre Marcotte for two years. She then left the artistic scene for good.Anne Renée and René Angélil divorced in 1985. Their daughter Anne-Marie married singer Marc Dupré in 2000; the latter separate in 2023.
