Dutch pianist beginning his studies with Bart Berman at the Rotterdam Academy of Music and continued in Amsterdam at the Sweelinck Conservatoire as a student of Willem Brons. He obtained the recital diploma for piano in 1981. On the basis of his achievements the Dutch Government awarded him a fellowship in order to study in London for two years with John Bingham. Highly acclaimed by the press calling him a lyricist of the purest sort, Matthijs Verschoor regularly appears on concertplatforms throughout Europe and made numerous radio recordings either solo or with duo partner cello player Mayke Rademakers.
