(Born April 22, 1914 in Amberg, † November 7, 1988 in Murnau) was a German poet, composer, elementary school teacher and NS official. Baumann's successes and activities during the National Socialist era had a lasting effect throughout his life. Nevertheless, after 1945, in some cases under a pseudonym, he became a successful and internationally recognized author of children's and young people's books and a translator.
