Glenn Rowell

American radio show host and vaudeville artist (born in Cleveland, Ohio – died October 9, 1965 in Rapid City, South Dakota)

A radio pioneer, Glenn was studio director and head of the music department at WLS radio. In 1929, he and Gene Carroll formed a successful act, Gene And Glenn in which they played the characters Jake and Lena. Between 1930 and 1935, they were featured on Cleveland radio, then went national with NBC. In 1943, the act broke up when Rowell went to work with WTAM Cleveland, while Carroll stayed with WTIC. Later, Rowell continued to work for several radio and TV stations.
