He went all the way through music education: after studying at the Warsaw music high school, he graduated from the clarinet class (under the direction of Ludwik Kurkiewicz)at the PWSM in Warsaw[3]. He independently became acquainted with the technique of playing the soprano and tenor saxophone, occasionally also using other instruments, of which the bass clarinet occupied a special position. When he was still a high school student, he began performing on stage.

As a teenager, he was a member of a band that accompanied Partitaconcerts, m.in jazz jamboree '67. He also established cooperation with the bands of Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Ohalski and the Big Band Stodola and occasionally performed with them.
