Sondra Steele, born Marguerite Kalna in Pittsburgh on June 18, 1913, married John McGuire in the late 1930s and as a vocal duo they assumed the stage names of Jon & Sondra Steele.

In mid-1948, Jon & Sondra Steele released their version of “My Happiness” on Damon Records which reached #2 on the billboard charts. The song stayed on the charts for 30 weeks, earning them the 1948 Cash Box award for most popular jukebox record.

Jon died in 1987 while Sondra passed away on January 24, 1998.
