US soul singer, (born 20 January 1939 in Osceola, Arkansas. died, 25 April 2022) who relocated to the UK in the early 1970s and settled in England. He owns the label Osceola Records. Joined Kings of Rhythm in 1958 and worked with Ike and Tina Turner and The Ikettes until the mid-1960's.

Not to be confused with Jimmie Thomas, the writing pseudonym of Leon Rene who wrote "Rockin' Robin".
