Ruudolf

Real name: Rudy Frans Juhani Kulmala

Effective period / Period of releases: 2003 - 2011

The double "heavyweight" champion of Finnish freestyle rap, Rudy "Ruudolf" Kulmala has a long history in the Finnish underground rap scene.

He started young and won his first championship in 2001. As a part of an underground rap group "Vähäiset Äänet" and with his solo album "2002-2003 (Vaimokassu)" he gained respect with his effortless flow. He gained country-wide recognition, when he released "Doupeimmat Jumala Seivaa" which was described by the music press as "the first Finnish rap classic". He won his second championship in 2005, just before releasing the "Semihot Ruudolf Megamixtape".

He started off as "Rudy Rääväsuu", which was his artist name when he won his first championship. Sometimes he just shortened it to "Rudy". He used "Rudolf" on his solo album "2002-2003" and then started using "Ruudolf" when he released the first single "Bodausanthem" of the "Doupeimmat Jumala Seivaa" album. He uses the alias "Rolf Santana" as a producer. When he deejays, he uses the alias "Booty Coolmala" (an apparent deviation of his real name) or plain "Booty C".
