Sleeping Pictures
Members: Gary Parsons, Marc Blackie
Sleeping Pictures consists of Marc Blackie and Gary Parsons, who met whilst both living in South London in the mid-ninties. The band was first of all a more noisy/experimental affair, but thanks to chance meetings, concerts and collaborations the pair began a fitful affair with the neo-folk genre, which saw the release of their first album "Nether Edge", with contributions from Hunter Barr, John Murphy, Renee Rosen, Tony Wakeford and Matt Howden. This was followed with a session largely comprising of new material for French radio, but soon the band realised that they found the neo-folk genre too restricting and so these songs where largely scrapped in favor of a new direction, which can be heard on the "Many Hands Should Throw Stones" album.
